Zion Hill Track loop - Karekare

Neil and I went on another hiking trip in the Waitakere ranges.

This time we did the Zion Hill Track loop - Karekare (See map below)

We started around 10.45am from the carpark at Karekare beach.

It was around 10 degrees! But as diehard naturist that doesn't put us off.

There was a sign at the start of the track saying that it is a 4.5-hour walk.

Neil thought that it would be shorter that. So off we went.

The track was well maintained with board walks and handrails as you can see on the photo below.

Oops! Did I say die hard naturist. Who is that guy all dressed up??

On the way to the top of Mount Zion, we had some spectacular views

Around midday we took a lunch break and enjoyed the scenery

After the lunch, we started our steep descent towards Pararaha Valley.

From there we took a right turn towards the beach.

We had beautiful sunny weather and almost no wind. The temperature was slowly increasing, and it felt really nice. We were soaking up the sun and the necessary vitamin D.

We had still plenty of time, so we were hanging around the beach a bit longer before we went back.

We arrived back at the carpark around 2.15pm. We sat down with a nice coffee and talked about how wonderful it is to go out and enjoy the New Zealand outdoors naked.

So hopefully this will encourage more people to go out.

And you don't have to wait until summertime.

Cheers Ronald
