Riding the wave off the back of the Lotto Ad

Hi everyone 👋👋

Thought I’d give you a quick run down of what I’ve noticed since the running of the Lotto add

This is just one example of what I’m seeing

Sunday morning instead of staying in bed nice and warm

I see the sun bursting through my window ☀️

Quickly I jump out of bed a quick breakie and head off to get my sit on top kayak

There’s a chill in the wind

Quickly I climb on board and make my way to the sand spit some 25 min paddle away

As I’m heading down the channel I see a catamaran heading my way

I know this one

And crap I’ve forgotten my life jacket and this is the harbour masters cat and where about to pass each other just meters apart

As we cross over he waves and smiles and comments (have you forgotten something and I’m not talking clothes here )🙄

I quietly replied (in a bit of hurry) and smiled and we passed on by

Reaching the spit I ditch the kayak and head north

With the sun on my back sand between my toes and not a care in the world I head out

It’s not long before I come across a couple out walking

He waves and she gingerly acknowledges me but smiles

Which is quite the opposite (usually the ladies are first )

Further on down the spit it connects with the mainland where there a half dozen houses to pass by and the beach entrance

50 meters or so from there my cellular watch rings

It’s my daughter in-law and this is one call you don’t want to ignore

She a good southern girl that loves a good chat 😊

Well 35 minutes 12 -14 people plus there dogs pass by the naked guy talking to his wrest 🙄

O and don’t forget the 2 ladies riding there horses too 🐎

Various different looks and smiles 😊

The ladies on the horse say hi and I acknowledge with a wave

I’m thinking can this get any busier and I really need to hang up

It’s all good the baby is crying in the background and she’s got to go

She did ask are you enjoying your morning ?

I kindly replied (it’s interesting you could say )

She knows I’m nudists as she calls me 😊😊

Anyway I carry on on my walk

On my return back I pass most of the other follow walkers

The ladies on the horses are further down the beach heading my way

I head to waters edge to give them some room

They do the same so I head to the dune they do the same

Hmmm I’ll stay in the middle of the beach

They do the same

They ride up to me and we start chatting

There are smiles all round

No mention of been naked

After chatting about horses etc

One lady comments

Good on you

Your living your best life

Her friend pitches in

It’s just like the lotto ad but on a beach

We all laughed

And parted our ways for home

So I got thinking from what I’m seeing there certainly seems be more interaction since the running of the add

So if anyone is a little apprehensive of been naked in public spaces

I would say it’s a good time to take that step 💕

Let’s ride that wave together 😊😊😊

Forgot to mention 😊

I’m doing a small road trip from Westport to Karamea in a few days time

I decided to book through Airbnb and ask the hosts if they where happy to accomodate my life style

Clearly spelling out I’m a naturist so there was no misunderstanding

I had discussions with 6 host and got turned down by 2

One I would was a genuine reason

So I have 4 nights accommodation been naked and they where happy for me to use the beaches

I didn’t mention I had every right to use the beach anyway 😊

Lloyd a question I have . I am assisting Andrew in organising a CO accommodation directory. It would be good to have a good number of bnbs listed. Airbnb are pretty secretive re hosts contact details, probably for good reson. . I understand you have to book a stay before the hosts details are available to the guest. So how did you get host details or did you book a stay first. I see 2 out of your 6 requests couldn't accommodate you, did you then cancel those bookings. Thanks Ross
