Summer and Naturists Camping
In April, Andrew Cook created a post for a weekend away. The post is still available withon " General Discussions " and it is titled " WHATIPU CAMPOUT - Expressions of Interest ".
It is good to know that it created interest amongst some Members of Hauraki Naturally, although it sadly has not been able to proceed too much futher. A comment from Andrew on 4th July quotes " Unfortunately. Peter, it's not looking good at this stage. We have just over half the number required to make it viable to hire the lodge, and not all of those can attend at any given chosen date. ".

I have attended this naturists holiday camp in January 2021. The camp has been happening each January for several years, and I found it to be very well organised - and excellent value for money.
The accomodation options are many and varied ; stay in the accommodation provided, erect your own tent, take your own motorhome, or sleep in your van / car. The only acommodation option not available is a caravan - and that is entirely due to the access road from the main road / meeting point. ( once you drive the road, you will totally understand why caravans are not permitted ! ). The access road is primarily for forestry vehilces.
If anyone wants to have an option to ' get away from society ' for a break, this definitely is an excellent option. I spent approximately 10 days there - and the only noise I heard apart from the birds, the waterfalls, the glow-worms, etc etc etc was the rescue helicpter which travelled one day between Waikato and Tauranga hospital !
