A couple of years ago I was up there via Gray road and there was a school bus load of kids so I stayed clothed but because of my hobby (Geocaching) I tried to walk to Ruapane trigg as the instructions said about 3 hours return but after a while and the track was rough i turned back and opted to drive around to Waite road and proceeed from there telling my wife I would be back in 2 hours but it took 2 hours to reach the trig so I rang her and said I would be back in under 2 hours thinking down hill would be easier but getting down off the larva flow was very slow but once I got back onto the real track it was easier,

I want to go back up grey road again as there is a number of geocaches to find probaly on the loop track

As we are fron south Taranaki we only go that way on Holiday
