Have noticed on social media etc. a few people travelling and checking out beaches in the Eastern Bay lately. I have been somewhat surprised at how short the peak summer holiday period is, 6 weeks is about it, from Christmas Eve to school back in early February. I was on Ohope Beach on the 13th of Feb. 25-degree day, warm water yet virtually deserted. On any section of beach there would have been from none to 6 people, this at 2 pm. Even in front of the surf club the same, flags packed away, quiet as. No trouble for a nude swim at all, except West End, surf school and more people there. Picked up a bit after 4.30 with surf club practice etc. Am keen to identify a spot on Ohope Beach to become semi known as a nude section of beach. after much exploring and trial and error have decided on the corner Of Te Akau Rd and Ocean Beach. Have skinny dipped there a few times with other people around no trouble. Interested in people's impressions after visiting.
I would add that if some clown needs a telephoto lens to see you, then they can hardly claim to be offended now, can they?!! 😆
