WORLD NAKED BIKE RIDE - Waihi POSTPONEMENT
Hi Everyone!
We regret to advise that, due to the rising threat of the omicron variant of C-19 spreading through the community, the organisers of the World Naked Bike Ride have decided to postpone all three New Zealand rides until November.
This decision affects the rides at Waihi Beach on 19th March, as well as Takaka, Golden Bay. The ride at Dunedin is still on at this stage.
We believe that people's health is of primary importance, and it would be irresponsible to continue with events that could potentially become "super-spreaders" of the virus.
The new date proposed for the event at Waihi Beach is Saturday, 19 November, 2022. All other plans for running the event will likely be unchanged at this stage.
BUT WAIT - THERE'S MORE!
We know that this is disappointing news, but ALL IS NOT LOST. Instead of the WNBR public event, we'll go for an informal naked bike ride anyway. This will be along the Hauraki Rail Trail between Paeroa and Waikino and will be open just to members of Hauraki Naturally and their friends and family.
This is a great cycle route through the Karangahake Gorge that we've done in the past and there are some great swimming holes along the way. It will be a fun time.
You will still need a Covid vaccination Pass - we don't want to be responsible for passing the bug around!
If you'd like to join us but don't have a bike, just let me know - I have a couple of spare bikes.
The date is the same - March 19th. More details to come soon, so WATCH THIS SPACE!
Cheers!
Rok
