WINTER SOLSTICE - Polar Plunge Fundraiser
The mid-winter Polar Plunge has been on the Naturist's calendar for many years. This year I thought it would be cool (no pun intended!) to develop this further into a Nude Charity Polar Plunge, similar to the one held in Canberra, Australia. Winter Solstice is on June 21st.
The Canberra swim raises money for Lifeline and encourages swimmers to wash away negativity and feel a sense of renewal for the upcoming solar year by stripping off and swimming in the chilly waters of Lake Burley Griffin on the shortest day of the year. 100% of donations go to Lifeline.
Covid-19 has certainly stretched the resources of mental health service providers, and it would be great to give some support. It would also go a long way to demonstrating that Naturism is hugely beneficial to mental health.
The idea is that the event is promoted to the general public to take part. Participants register individually or as a team of family, friends, workmates, etc. for a registration fee. The Auissie event askes for a $30 registration donation. Individuals and teams then gather sponsors for their swim, which would take place at a designated beach - as central to as many people as possible.
SO . . . any ideas on a suitable spot, with easy access, toilets, area for a BBQ. It does NOT have to be a traditional naturist area. Non-naturists will be taking part. Any ideas on the event - please comment below.
Cheers!

sounds like a great idea, especially raising money for Mental Health, I'm up for it.
