Frustrating police.

Today I had an extensive conversation with a couple of police officers trying to get them to understand that, just because I was naked it isn't indecent exposure. I fully accept I was naked, it was intentional and there was a high chance I would be seen. But that in itself is NOT indecent exposure because riding a bike is not obscene. Else children wouldn't do it.

Do you think I could get them to understand both conditions need to be met. It was like trying to drive a panel pin into concrete. In the end I said I don't beleive I've broken the law, if you want charge me and we can argue it out in court. They said don't do it again and left.

Now I fully intend to do it again so let's see what happens

Hi Peter; I was referring to case law over a 5-to 15 year range i.e Nick Lowe and another case in the Tauranga area also about 8 years ago.

I guess thats not recent. Compared to the 1960s era public nudity appears more acceptable based on successful prosecutions.

My personal experience also supports this view.
