Naked Bike Ride - Miranda to Kaiaua.
It was awesome to have @Daniel join me for the Wednesday bike ride today. We started at the layby near the Miranda Holiday Park and cycled North to Kaiaua - a distance of 11.75 Km (23.5 Km return trip), which took 1 hour 45 minutes at an easy pace. Although there were a few moments of drizzle as we set off, and a bit of a chilly head wind, we soon warmed up and it turned into a beautiful clear day. Normally we pass a number of other cyclists and a few walkers along this section of the Hauraki Rail Trail but, surprisingly, we passed nobody at all today, apart from a few folks camping in their motorhomes at Ray's Rest.
We do this ride (or a variation of it) every Wednesday, so if anyone feels like getting out there in the spring sea air, let me know. It's a real buzz. Alternatively, on Sundays I go out to the Pukorokoro Seabird Coast, South of Ray's Rest, for a coastal walk. Both these activities start at 11 am. Comment below if you wish to come along.
I know that I could not have participated in the ride . . . . . but did I somehow miss the notification of the event happening . . . . . . ?
