Farewell to Bob ASHWELL
Steve McLeod messaged me this morning to say that our oldest member, Bob Ashwell, has died peacefully, aged 85 years.
I had visited Bob at his home up the Thames Coast several times since he joined us in July last year. Bob was a keen petanque player at the Thames club and played there twice a week. I was constantly entertained by his memories and photographs during my coffee visits.
In late November, Bob had a week in hospital after a heart operation, and was slowly improving up towards Christmas. Rest in Peace, Bob. I will certainly miss our chats!

I was saddened to read this. I had many chats with Bob. A great gentleman to chat with.
