Hauraki Plains

An Introductory Hike.

We have a couple living in West Auckland who would be keen to do a short hike - up to about an hour each way - on flat or easy terrain. They are around 70 and health concerns would limit the walking duration to about that timing. At this stage the couple do not have the courage to hike alone and need to be part of a good sized group with a good proportion of females. So - can we make this happen?

The walk is open to anyone, but I'd like to try for a group of around 14 people - 7 males and 7 females. If you have children, they would be welcome in addition to the 14. If there is a demand, we may consider increasing that quota a little.

Depending on the response, I'm planning the walk to be at a location within the Auckland - Hamilton - Thames triangle. There are a few options within that area, including a coastal walk along a shoreline.

The preferred days would be Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, but we could do a weekend if that means getting the numbers up. It will hopefully be in February or March, before the temperatures start falling off too much. If you're keen, please comment below with which days of the week you can be available. If we can't reach the 7 + 7 participants within Hauraki Naturally, I'll consider inviting folks from AONC, Auckland Sun Club, Counties, and WOS.

No need to apologise with reasons why you can't come - just comment if you are keen to help make this happen.

Cheers!

The WIN group (Women in Naturism) is a separate area of the website for women only. There are articles of interest to women and a forum where they can introduce themselves to other women and discuss issues of concern to them. The WIN area is only visible on the menu bar and forum categories to those who have the WIN badge on their profiles. They have access to all other areas of the website and forum categories.

Having said that, it hasn't been the success I was hoping for, and not sure why. I think it's a combination of things - not the least being that I believe women see naturism and/or their involvement and interaction on line as a far lower priority than men do. Women have other things and responsibilities that they see deserve a greater claim on their time.
