How to get there

Travel 4.3 km north from Tairua shops on SH25. Near the top of the hill turn right into Sailors Grave Road. Be careful in the traffic and make sure to signal your turn early. At the bottom of Sailors Grave Road (1.5 km from intersection) you will see a DoC sign on the right and a carpark on the left (Click the photos on the map).

Cross the road and walk down to the beach. The walk is about 200 meters, making this one of the most accessible beaches listed here. Most naturists turn right and walk along the beach, passing between the two big rocks (see photo). This portion of the beach is the southern part of Te Karo Bay and is only about 90 meters long.
