New Chums Beach
How to get there
At Te Rerenga turn off SH25 onto Whangapoua Road. Travel 5km to Whangapoua. At the end of the road turn right into Tangiora Ave. Continue to the northern end of the beach. At the end of the road there is a sandy track on the left. Follow the track to the carpark. Leave your car here and walk out onto the sandspit.
At a suitable location, cross the river. Walk north on the beach. At the end of the beach there is a rough track. The track improves after a few metres. Take care because the track can be slippery after rain. Follow the track over a peninsula and through a nikau grove all the way to the beach. The walk will take around 30 mins. Most naturists move just a little way down the beach.
Facilities
