Wanna be a life drawing model? Here's how

So, are you one of those people who thought for years you'd love to pose naked for an art class? did you ever think "yeah but I'm too old or couldn't stay still that long"? pull up a seat and hear my story. I became a naturist at age 55 and a life drawing art model this year, age 62. I'll explain some common misconceptions first. Unlike glamour models, life drawing modelling is NOT about ero model figure- in fact, artists LOVE curves and scars that tell a life story because THAT is what they want to capture. What's important? Ability to hold a pose for 20-30 mins and being relaxed naked . THAT'S ALL. But, be creative....let your creative flair flow.... So I'm trusting my story, and in particular pics, they do NOT go beyond this site all. I spent over a year repeatedly contacting my local life drawing class to get a chance. It's extra hard as a male to get a chance, trust me, it was a loooong year. Finally I got given a chance. I practiced HARD really hrd, getting creative poses which were challenging for artists (especially ones with arms above shoulders- they are great poses but arms BURN after a few mins until you get used to holding them that long. Sooo- classes are normally like start with 2 poses of 2 mins (all poses are your choice) 3 poses of 5 mins , 1 pose of 1 mins (these are more dynamic harder to hold poses) then after a break (when you can put on a bathrobe (it's life drawing ettique you do) you can wander around and see what artists drew (they are usually really happy for you to take pics on your phone). after the break, longer poses 2-3 mins (often lying or sitting). SO- my learning? If you think years of being a nudist will prepare you for this- be warned- it may not! After 5 years as a naturist, I thought I'd be fine, Wrong!!! When the time came to disrobe and step up onto the platform that first time- i was nervous "would my poses be good enough" but honestly, it only lasts 30 secs, once you settle into the first pose, you're fine. But my experience- although I thouught I knew freedom as a naturist, once I settled into that first pose on that first group I was OVERWHELMED with an incredible sense of innocence - and i ONLY EXPERIENCE IT life modelling. way beyond being a naturist. YES life modelling means being LOOKED AT (closely) rather ta SEEN (as a naturist) but I promise you this, you'll never be the same again (in a good way. If you want to know where/how to try message me, or ask here. Alternatively, facebook auckland life modelling collective, join it, ask to be a model in chat and Jackson Wong will contact you (he's VERY easy to talk with- trust me) oh, so once I got my first class, a co-ordinator from another class was there, he asked me to pose at his class, i did and got invited to aanother class.....it all took off. So.....thats my story....please meassage me or ask here if questions, trust me....you should do this

Some pictures from last nights session.

I tried to get photos of me in the pose by camera and pics of the art work that had been created from that pose. Thats the lying down ones.

Plus a couple of other - 20 min seated and 5 x 4 min more dynamic sketches.

Thats it until Feb as the courses take a break over Christmas.
